Convention participants and visitors are welcome.

Presentation and discussions of the life in our Church are offered with box lunches, on six days during the 1:15 – 2:15 p.m. recess. 

Presenters and moderators bring a wide variety of experiences and credentials to the table for our edification, consideration and discussion. Seating is limited; therefore it is suggested that you return the reservation form, below, as soon as possible.

Luncheon Schedule

    Wednesday, July 5th – Congregational Ministries: “Gospel Based Discipleship”

We are being challenged in the next Triennium to: Make Disciples, Promote Diversity and Enhance Communications. Gospel Based Discipleship is one of the tools that combine these three challenges into a way of life.

    Saturday, July 8th – Africa Staff Team: “The Church in Africa”

The hopes and heartaches of life and work in Africa today will be shared by Bishop Edward Neufville of Liberia and Bishop Simon Chiwanga of Tanzania; the Rev. Dr. Marc Nikkel, long-term mission partner for Sudan, and other missioners serving in Uganda, South Africa and Madagascar. Hosted by the Africa Staff Team of the Episcopal Church Center.

    Monday, July 10th – Peace and Justice: “Striving for Justice and Peace”

Staff members from Peace and Justice will share what happens to all those social policy resolutions adopted by General Convention. A checklist of resources will be offered and time for questions and sharing from participants will be encouraged as time allows.

    Tuesday, July 11th – Ministries with Young People:
                                  “Resources for Ministering to the Youth of our Church”

Join other church leaders in the areas of Children’s, Youth, Young Adult, Higher Education, and Christian Education Ministries for a time of sharing, networking and learning. We’ll have a chance to make collegial connections that will extend beyond the time of General Convention and look at resources to help you in your ministry.

    Wednesday, July 12th – Transitions Project: “Fresh Start”

This project deals with the first two years of ministry of a congregation and clergyperson. The project is sponsored by the Church Deployment Office, the Office for Ministry Development, and Cornerstone, with support from the Assistant to the Presiding Bishop for Program.

    Thursday, July 13th – Ecumenical: “Let us break bread together”

A conversation about our ecumenical life in the Episcopal Church. Let us share a meal and talk together about God’s plan for the unity of the Church. Episcopal Church Center Office of Ecumenical and Interfaith Office staff members, Midge Roof and David Perry will share in the discussion.
