New multimedia resources on Haiti earthquake available

[Episcopal News Service] Close to a month after a Jan. 12 earthquake hit the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, images and descriptions of the damage continue to emerge, including two new multimedia resources that have been added to the Episcopal Church's website.

In a new video message available here, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori shares her experiences from her Feb. 8 visit to Haiti where she witnessed the destruction caused by the quake and its impact on the Diocese of Haiti.

"The devastation on the ground is as bad as you've seen on the news," the presiding bishop reports in the video.

The second resource is an Episcopal News Service 12-photo image gallery, available here. The gallery features photographs taken by Eddy Alcindor, a Haitian who assists the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti's communication efforts.

It follows another gallery, uploaded Feb. 9, that features photos from Jefferts Schori's visit the previous day. The first gallery is available here.
