Bulletin insert series to focus on General Convention

May 19, 2009 [Episcopal News Service] Beginning on May 31, a series of six Episcopal Life Weekly bulletin inserts will focus on the 76th General Convention of The Episcopal Church, which will take place July 8-17 in Anaheim, California.

The first insert, titled 'Living the Questions,' outlines the beginnings of the The Episcopal Church, a story that didn't really begin with Henry VIII, but reached a major turning point when the Tudor monarch broke with Rome to form the Church of England, which was then carried to the New World by settlers.

Other inserts in the series will include information about the structure and polity of the Church and descriptions of how General Convention is run, as well as issues that are likely to come before the triennial meeting this summer.
